My name is Candace and I live in Fairfax, CA a small town with a 60′s mentality in Marin County, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco and beside the beautiful blue Pacific Ocean and on most days I can always see the the bay. I am married to my wonderful husband Stuart. We don’t have any children and now we don’t have any pets currently. We recently lost our beloved Theo, a gorgeous Welsh Springer Spaniel, my constant companion. I miss him.
Things about me, whether you want to know or not:
1. my favorite color is green.
2. I was born in Texas in 1956, but I have never lived there.
3. I have been married twice.
4. I have two step kids (adults now).
5. I do not crochet. Not that I don’t like it I just can’t do it mainly because I am left handed.
6. I have 2 college degrees – BA in Fine Arts (textiles more specifically Weaving) from the University of Oregon, and a BFA in Interior Architecture from California College of Arts and Crafts (now known as California College of Arts).
7. I knit every single day.
8. I have over 200 pairs of shoes. (Imelda move over).
9. I have 3 looms.
10. I still have a yarn stash from my weaving days.
11. I mostly buy Eileen Fisher Clothes.
12. I drive a BMW.
13. I practice yoga here.
14. I love to cook. I don’t like to bake. Baking is too exact, cooking is creative.
15. I love Bombay Sapphire martinis with 2 olives.
16. I love roses and enjoy growing them.
17. I lived in Anchorage, Alaska for 15 years.
18. I lived in Durango, Colorado for 5 years.
19. I collect cooking books and knitting books.
20. I have a spinning wheel that I keep in my bedroom as decoration. I know how to spin but don’t anymore because it hurts my back too much. However, with all the new interest in spinning these days I may just have to dose myself with Advil and get with it again.
21. I don’t drink coffee, but I love coffee ice cream.
22. I have high blood pressure – runs in the family. Weird how those things happen.
23. I never wear shorts in public, and for that matter never at home either. I guess it is a vanity thing and another family inheritance – spider veins!
24. I am afraid of worms and caterpillars. That is a long story for some other time.
25. I love country western music, jazz, rock, just about everything as long as it is good.
26. I practice yoga with Bonnie Raitt.
27. I eat dark chocolate every day. It’s good for you!
